Imagine the scene on Monday evening at the London Classic Rock Awards 2008. As many different singers get together with some hoping to get awards. Amongst the people who received awards were Ozzy Osbourne, Jeff Beck, Slash and Peter Green. All of these people were well deserving of the award.

The venue was at Park Lane Hotel where many great names in rock music to receive their awards. The successful recipients were also contributing to a well deserved charity.

Ozzy, Jeff and Peter signed their autograph to some extremely noisy loudspeakers, a pair of bespoke airbrushed Platinum PL300s that were given by top loudspeaker company, Monitor Audio.

Throughout the evening over 20 rock star celebrities signed the custom built speakers. Ronnie Wood, Colin Blunstone, Mani, David Coverdale, Booby Gillespie and Jack Bruce as well as many others signed the speakers. Making the speakers a very valuable and special piece of rock equipment. The bespoke PL300 loudspeakers are going to be auctioned at a unique classic rock event where all the money will be given to Child-line the children’s charity. Last year over 500,000 children rang the 24 hour helpline that is available to support children who are in distress or danger.

I can speak from personal experience here. As someone who was bullied all the way through school and suffered eating disorders as well as lot’s of other things I personally found child-line my lifeline. I can honestly say that without them I don’t think I would be here today writing this blog. Just to have someone that you could ring and speak to when times got so bad was a lifeline to me. It meant that although I was going through hell I didn’t need to go through it alone. There was someone at the other end of the phone that I could speak to which really helped me.

That is why I love the Osbourne’s so much because I look at them and I see all that they have been through and I am in awe of how they have managed and coped with difficulty. They are such a close knit family it is lovely to see. Nowadays there are not as many families that are close like the Osbourne’s and everyone of their family has coped with difficulty and survived. The Osbourne’s are very special people and an asset to the world of celebrities.
