Sharon Osbourne Quits The X-Factor
When Sharon Osbourne left her position next to American Idol’s Simon Cowell and Danni Minogue on the X-Factor I was very upset. Sharon Osborne makes the show sensational she is one of the best judges ever, in my opinion. The show will not be the same without her and she will be missed by fans all over the nation.
Even though there have been rumours before that said Sharon was thinking of leaving the show. Sadly, this time it doesn’t look like Sharon will change her mind. ITV held talks with Cheryl Cole during the weekend and are due to announce Cheryl Cole as Sharon Osborne’s replacement, filming starts next week. Sharon is said to have given support to Cheryl as her replacement.
Cheryl has signed a contract that insiders say is worth around £800,000 she has already started working on the auditions for the X-Factor show. Book makers William Hill rated Cheryl as an outsider at 16/1 they soon lowered that down to 1/3 before they closed the betting.
Sharon Osborne brought warmth to the show and was a mother figure her contestants could look up to. Sharon made the show entertainingly comical without her I do not think the show will work. Originally there was a working chemical amongst the judges even though there were arguments there was always laughter. Until Danni Minogue was added the judges were perfect together. Personally I never saw the need for an extra judge; the programme was great without another judge.
Rumours suggest that producers refused to pay Sharon £500,000 which she is said to have requested. However you can never tell with news like this if it is true or just rumours. Family and friends of Sharon have denied the rumours and say after 4 years of working on the X-Factor show she felt it was enough.
Sharon wants to concentrate on her American TV work. I am hoping this doesn’t mean that Sharon won’t entertain the British public again. I have enjoyed watching Sharon Osborne on TV. I find her entertaining, intelligent and quirky. I am looking forward to watching her work on other programmes and will keep you informed when I know more.
