Apparently Steve Brookstein who was the first winner of the ITV1 television music talent show The X Factor has spoken out about Sharon Osbourne former judge of The X Factor saying she has past her sell by date.  Steve Brookstein had the surprise of winning the first series of The X Factor.  The X Factor is a trademark of FremantleMedia Ltd and since his appearance on The X Factor I haven’t heard of Steve Brookstein appearing in anything else. What right has he in saying that Sharon Osbourne has past her sell by date?  She has definitely not past her sell by date.

Steve Brookstein has said that he is glad Sharon Osbourne has quit as an X Factor judge because he found her nasty and abusive to the UK’s finest singers on The X Factor.  Actually I’ve always found her supportive and kind.  Sharon Osbourne’s judging on the panel of The X Factor was honest and always backed up the singers.  If anyone can sometimes appear rude it certainly isn’t Sharon but, Simon has said some awful things to the contestants before.  Simon Cowell and reality TV star Sharon Osbourne co-judged on the British TV talent show The X Factor but, it wasn’t all pleasant they shared words together.  Often it would be because Sharon Osbourne was trying to defend a singer whilst Simon Cowell wanted to bring them down.  Steve Brookstein should remember all those times when Sharon defended the singers often they were not even her own singers but, Simon or Louie’s.  

Last year Louis Walsh was going to leave The X Factor, but after careful consideration he decided not to.  Unfortunately Sharon Osbourne has definitely made this decision and. Cheryl Cole will replace Sharon Osbourne as a judge on The X Factor.  After Sharon Osbourne X factor judge announced that she would be stepping down as a judge on The X Factor after four series some people have seen it as a chance to hit out at her and say some very abusive things. Some people have made the suggestion that Sharon told Simon Cowell “It’s Dannii or me”.  Why is it that some people seem to like nothing better than to take a pop at Sharon Osbourne? Sharon is an extrovert not afraid of speaking her mind.  The truth is that if somebody is thinking something, but too afraid to say it, Sharon will say it for them.

Osbourne described Brookstein as “a fake” and “full of crap” during the X Factor final in 2004.  Brookstein, 35, said he had been deeply upset by what Sharon had said to him.  I am sure there must have been a reason for Sharon to say this other than her being nasty.  Maybe there was some truth in it.  Steve Brookstein the pub singer from south London has hardly made a great success in the music industry since his unexpected victory in The X Factor.  It is also not the first time that Brookstein has hit out at somebody.  In 2005 he made a pop at Simon Cowell accusing him of not taking his priorities seriously. He said, “He is pleased Former X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne is no longer a judge on the reality show”. 

At the height of his X Factor fame Brookstein told the Daily Mail in 2005, “The X Factor gives you a platform but then pulls the rug from under your feet by making you sign to a certain record label and having no say in what happens next,”. It is not the first time that Steve Brookstein has launched a scathing attack on The X Factor and I don’t think it will be the last.  He has said that he didn’t want to do just covers and expected more from Simon Cowell.  Meanwhile X Factor Winner Shayne Ward has nothing, but praise for the X Factor which just goes to show that there must have been something wrong with Steve Brookstein. 

Brookstein would have known before he went on the X Factor what the conditions of the contract were.  It was because of the X Factor that Brookstein was briefly famous in 2004.  Would he have ever become a successful artist without that constant TV exposure that The X Factor gave him?  That is doubtful.  I guess we will never know.   Steve Brookstein hasn’t exactly set the charts, but he did make a success for a while probably due to The X Factor. Maybe it was due to his age that he didn’t have a wide appeal, but to blame Simon Cowell is ludicrous.  If anything Sharon Osbourne did him a favour by dissing him on The X Factor because it got him more publicity. Yet still he wishes to take a pop at Sharon by saying, “She’s past her sell-by date.  I think people have forgotten how nasty she was to me and how she has been proven wrong. What’s the worst I’ve done? Worked in Butlins? Is that as bad a person as I am? ” Even if Sharon did say some things that were out of order that’s in the past.  Why does he have to drag it all up again?  It’s like he has this grudge and is trying to take revenge by hitting out at Sharon.  Sharon Osbourne did nothing wrong she only spoke out about what she truly thought of Steve Brookstein, her honesty is to be admired.   

For those who know Sharon Osbourne then you will know of her love for dogs. Sharon has had many dogs over the years.  Sharon is very loyal to her dogs and even jetted 5,400 miles back to Los Angeles last year to care for her sick dog Minnie.  They say that dogs are men’s best friend, but
Sharon has gone to show they can be ladies best friends also. 

Minnie was Sharon’s favourite out of all her dogs and this news affected her very deeply.  Minnie of all Sharon’s dogs was a loyal companion whilst she fought cancer.  Minnie made several television appearances with Sharon in the X Factor and the hit Television Series “The Osbournes”.  Minnie was a character in herself she even bit Patrick Swayze whilst he was interviewed on Sharon’s chat show.  Patrick Swayze came on the set and turned round to Minnie saying, “Hello Minnie, you’re looking as though you might bite my head off.”, but Sharon Osbourne convinced him that “No, she’s lovely, a lovely little dog.”  Of course, Minnie was a beautiful dog and very soft natured.  She just had a bit of a feisty spirit like Mrs Osbourne!  So there’s this sweet little doggie and all of a sudden she pounces causing Patrick Swayze to scream, startled.  It was all very funny as shocked Sharon told Patrick “She didn’t mean it — she bites me all the time!”  It all made for fantastic viewing and shows that dogs have a good sense of humour also! 

Being Sharon Osbourne’s pets the dogs are bound to have a great sense of humour.  Personally I have always favoured cats, but every cat I’ve ever had has been a bit mad like me!  I think pets take on their owner’s persona!

Minnie was a lovely dog and enjoyed a lot of pampering. Celebrities like Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Sharon Osbourne are known for having a fad for Mexican breed.  Sharon has many other dogs as well.  I think it’s a bit sexist to say that dogs are a man’s best friend, Sharon goes to show that they are a woman’s best friend also!

It has been confirmed that Sharon Osbourne will be taking over the new season of Rock of Love.  Sharon will work as a host on hit US reality show “Rock of Love”.  Viewers watching will be able to see her turn rejects such as, Bret Michaels into top class rock and roll ladies.  Monique is the host she will be taking over from she hosted the first series.  In the rock version Rock of Love, it is bound to be a rocky ride with Sharon Osbourne sprucing up the contestants. Sharon will filter them down until finally one winner will take home a fantastic $100,000 prize.  Rock of Love will be airing in America this Autumn (08)

After gaining Sharon Osborne’s job on the X-Factor Cheryl Cole has said that she has got what it takes to win the show.  Cheryl Cole is currently filming auditions up and down the Country with fellow judges.  In an interview recently Cheryl who is 24 has said that she has what it takes to win the show because she is experienced with reality television having come from there herself.

Cheryl has said that out of the panel of judges she can relate the most to what the people are experiencing and thinks she has a good chance of winning.  Whilst thinking she might win is all very well she will not replace Sharon Osbourne in my opinion.  I cannot see her having the same feisty spirit or charisma that Sharon brought to the show.  In my opinion it doesn’t matter if Sharon never won what matters to me is that Sharon brought something special to the show that nobody else will ever be able to replace.  Whilst it seems that Sharon has been replaced with young leggy females they will never be able to replace the honest, charming and witty personality that Sharon radiated.  How could anyone replace Sharon Osbourne?  The thought is ludicrous. 

I regularly check for updates on Sharon Osbourne so I can bring you the latest news about her life and daily experiences.  So I’m looking for recent things about her and I come across this website called Popbytes and there is this story about her appearing on a Howard Stern show talking about Madonna adopting a baby.  This story is having a go at Sharon and saying how she should keep her mouth shut.  Now this really annoyed me because I totally understand where Sharon is coming from.  At least Sharon has the guts to say what everyone else is thinking even if they are not saying it.

So the latest on Madonna is that she’s adopted another baby.  So this is what Sharon is supposed to have said;

“Please give me a break; it is like getting a Louis Vuitton handbag. it is a crock of shit. if she wants to help the kid she should have got the father a little trade going, a fruit stand or something like that and built him a mud hut. if the kid is sick then get him a doctor, what was the father supposed to do, he can’t read or write. she should have left him in his own culture, that is what i say. Madonna should have given the money to an orphanage, got them a 24-hour paramedic. she bought a baby for god’s sake.”

Do you know what?  I agree with what Sharon has said.  There are so many celebrities in the media that are adopting children and yes it is like they bought an expensive designer handbag or something.  They want to appear all kind and goody goody yet what are their motives?  Everyone thinks, “Ah they are great for adopting a kid and giving it a new life” Yet think about what Sharon Osbourne was saying.  That child was taken away from it’s father who loved that child in a way that Madonna would never be able to love the child.  If Madonna had truly cared for the child’s welfare then she would have given enough money to the father to ensure he could pay for doctors and any help that child needed.  Instead because she has the money Madonna decided to take the child away and adopt it herself.  What also makes me mad is that all these celebrities who adopt children often adopt children from abroad.  What happened to all the babies in our Country that need help?  What about all those babies that need the support of a loving mother and father.  It seems they get neglected and left on the shelf in favour of some foreign child because it is easier to adopt foreign babies for a given price.  I’m surprised there isn’t a supermarket where celebrities can go and choose from shelves of children and pay for them at the checkout.

Actually this has been annoying me for a long time and I know of others who feel the same.  Sharon Osbourne only said what other people are thinking because she has the guts to do so.  How many others are brave enough to let their feelings show like this?  We need more people willing to take chances like this.  Someone needs to say the things nobody else dares to say.

Reading Sharon’s first book Extreme was eye opening to me.  I feel like I learned a lot about Sharon through reading her book.  It made me sad to hear about Sharon’s father who was named Don Arden.  He treated Sharon dreadfully, disrespected her, bullied her and under minded her on several occasions throughout her life.  It seemed he only wanted to cause misery for his daughter.  I cannot understand how any father could want to inflict such suffering on their daughter.

Sharon’s father managed many early rock and rollers such as “Gene Vincent” and “The Animals” during these times he used Sharon as an object to his get rich schemes.  At the age of 15 Sharon was used to repel creditors and appease bailiffs on the door.  Don Arden was born as  Harry Levy on 4th January 1926, Manchester, England and died on 21st July 2007, Los Angeles. It is said that Sharon made peace with her father before he died.  I think that this is fantastic and shows Sharon’s strength of character to forgive a father that put his daughter through hell and back.

Sharon broke free from her father’s clutches and decided to go it alone.  Yet despite her decision to go it alone Sharon’s father did not give up without a fight.  He did every under handed thing he could think of to get his daughter working for him again.  Fortunately Sharon is not the type of person to give in without a fight and has come a long way without the help of her father.  Due to lack of love and understanding from her parents Sharon had to learn to stand on her own two feet from a very young age. Sharon is now the wife of rock legend Ozzy Osborne.  During her early rock and roll years she grew up with entertainers and learned the trade from observation and experience. Sharon was on the road a lot with Black Sabbath in her early years.

I felt sad as I read about the way Sharon was used by her father.  Don Arden even stole money from Ozzy and Sharon.  I was starting to think things couldn’t get much worse when Sharon moved into her first home with Ozzy.  According to Sharon they were the loneliest years of her life.  Imagine moving in to your first home without even unpacking your bags the house goes up in flames.  A gift courteous of Ozzy who had put too much coal on the fire as a welcoming gift.

It is fair to say that as Sharon was growing up it was a combination of glamour and violence. 
Sharon’s marriage was a white knuckle ride throughout.  Yet Sharon stood by her soul mate Ozzy through thick and thin.  Even when he caused black eyes and played away.  Again this shows the strength of character that Sharon has.

Sharon Osbourne has been through many experiences in her life, but when she was diagnosed with cancer of the colon in 2002 it was tragic. Sharon’s diagnoses scared the whole family and Ozzy was perhaps the one most affected.  Imagine the person you love, who you have spent your whole life with being diagnosed with a potential life threatening illness.  Personally I recall the episode when I was rushed into hospital with Pre-eclampsia my husband was terrified as was my mum and dad.  They nearly lost not just me, but our beautiful daughter.  When you are diagnosed with a life threatening illness it happens so quickly and suddenly that you don’t expect it.  Nobody expects their life to be cut short and it is terrifying for those that love you.  It would have been a tragedy for this world to lose a celebrity as kind and entertaining as Sharon Osborne. Due to her fighting spirit she survived against all odds. Later she announced that the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes and was more serious than they had originally thought.  It was one thing after another being given a 33% survival prognosis.  Yet this more than anything shows the fighting nature of Sharon’s spirit. 

Sharon is a fighter she won’t give up that quickly and she wasn’t going to give in to cancer. Sharon has since set up her own colon cancer program at Cedars Sinai. Sharon was first diagnosed with colon cancer at the age of 49 and had no previous family history.  She had to have surgery to remove a foot of large intestine and some surrounding lymph nodes.  Ozzy took it very badly, he started to drink again and didn’t want to carry on with his concert dates.  Unfortunately Ozzy was out on the road at this point and wanted so badly to come home, to be by Sharon’s side.  Who could blame him?  Nobody wants to be out working when something as serious as cancer is diagnosed.

Sharon spent time coming to terms with her own mortality as she was brutally attacked by chemotherapy and sickness.  A brave and courageous move was her decision to let MTV cameras document her illness during the filming for the show The Osbourne’s second season.  This also helped people understand more about colon cancer and the battle that it takes to overcome it. Sharon is now fully recovered and supports those in her community who are suffering with colon cancer.

According to the American Gastroenterological Association, it is the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States, killing more than 50,000 Americans annually. This year nearly 132,000 new cases will be diagnosed.

Risk factors include:

• Age – after 50 men and women share nearly the same risk

• Personal or family history of colorectal cancer or polyps

• Having ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease

• Smoking cigarettes

• Obesity

One of Sharon Osbourne’s philosophies in life is to live every day to the fullest and do not save for tomorrow what you can do today. 

There are a lot of things I respect about Sharon to name just one of those it is the way she is honest and not afraid to talk of her own personal feelings.  Unlike other celebrities she doesn’t try to hide under a façade and despite whatever anyone says about her you cannot take away her hard work and dedication. 

Sharon has not had it easy, but through everything she has raised a wonderful family, become a successful business woman and won her battle with cancer.

When the Osborne’s was filmed Sharon negotiated with MTV to persuade them to film a program about her family’s life.  The show first began airing in early 2002 and was a huge success.  MTV Europe started filming the show in 2003. 

The show allowed ordinary viewers to watch a day in the life of real time celebrities, The Osbournes.  The show included one episode where Dr Phil McGraw paid the family a visit and listened as Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly and Jack shared their experiences and feelings of being an Osbourne.  The show paid $20,000 per episode for the first season’s 13 episode run.  Although Sharon had been planning the program for years networks did not want it shown until they has seen the success of Cribs.  Aimee Osbourne didn’t want to appear on the show, but did make an occasional appearance in Season 2 as one of the commentators.  She can also been seen briefly during the wedding vow renewal.

Sharon Osborne is to discuss her experiences of working in reality television at the MediaGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival in August. Sharon will appear on the yearly television event on a panel of celebrities who will discuss why celebrities take part in reality television shows.The session is called “I’m a Celebrity: Get Me on TV” quite aptly named after the popular television show “I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here” only this time it won’t be in the jungle it will be in Edinburgh.

Sharon Osborne will also talk about the experiences of “The Osbornes” and why her family chose to take part in the MTV reality show. There will be a panel from the world of broadcasting, talent management and journalism all taking part and questioning Sharon as to why certain celebrities will do anything to gain publicity and exposure.  The panel will ask questions such as where the race for ratings will end.  This will give an opportunity for people to hear first hand experience as to why people join reality television programs.  More recently reality television shows have been responsible for several celebrity careers and relationship break - ups.  In the last year we have seen people like Jodie Marsh marry a complete stranger, Kerry Katona giving birth, Steve Strange take part in “Celebrity Scissor hands” and many more celebrities make fools of themselves to households across the nation.I am sure that Sharon will be able to put her thoughts across and challenge the rest of the panel. 

It should be fun to watch her as she holds nothing back and tells it as it is.  Recently Sharon has hit out at reality television shows saying they churn out poor talent.  She said that television has taken a turn for the worse and new reality shows are becoming rife with talentless celebrities.  Sharon Osborne has been confirmed for the festival, but there are also other celebrities such as, Jamie Oliver and Russell T Davies who will take part.  The festival is being held between August 22 and 24^th.  The festival offers the opportunity for professionals across the media to network, share ideas and reconnect with friends and colleagues.I think it will be great fun to hear what Sharon has to say about reality television.  She could open people’s eyes to see things differently. Sharon is excellent at expressing her feelings and won’t hold anything back so it will be interesting to see what she has to say. 

Most rock fans know the name Ozzfest, but for those that don’t I will quickly explain.  Ozzfest is the yearly tour that is held across the United States and in previous years it has been held in Europe.  Rock fans enjoy listening to the many heavy mental and hard rock groups.  Ozzfest was first founded by Ozzy Osborne and his wife Sharon Osborne.  They both organize the tour yearly with their son Jack Osborne.

Rock fans can enjoy the variety of bands and genres within heavy metal and hard rock.  Ozzy and his band Black Sabbath have joined the tour many times over the years. On Tuesday June 17^th, 2008 Sharon Osborne featured on the television show “Opie and Anthony Show” the discussion was meant to promote the coming season of “America’s Got Talent” but, went off in a different direction where Sharon aired her opinions on Celebrity Reality Shows, including “Hogan Knows Best” and “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”. Sharon being the type of person who holds nothing back told the nation of her dislike of the many celebrity reality television shows that churn out poor talent.  Quite honestly, Mrs. Osborne, I couldn’t agree more.

During the course of the conversation Sharon Osborne also confirmed that Ozzfest would be touring during 2009.  Nightwish has already been mentioned as a possibility to take part in Ozzfest. Ozzfest has even given free tickets away to fans in the past.  It is the first national tour to do so.  The expenses were to be gained back through sales of merchandise and refreshments.  Of course, it meant that bands would not be paid for appearing in the tour, but bands gain a lot from the publicity of the tour.  Many bands have risen to fame through Ozzfest. Sharon knew they had to change things because bands were asking for extortionate payments and Ozzfest couldn’t meet those payments.  It was either higher the ticket prices which was against the policy of Ozzfest or change something else.  After careful negotiation it was decided the best way forward would be to give tickets away for free. 

Bands are demanding anything from $300,000 upward to do just one hour’s work on the stage.  Paying this kind of money was destroying the moral values of Ozzfest where heavy metal was to be available to all and in the end alternative arrangements had to be made.  Sponsors of Ozzfest will also fund tickets.

Sharon Osborne is down to earth and confident.  She is not afraid to tell it as it is and will call a spade a spade.  She is entertaining and always makes me chuckle. Sharon is loyal to her husband and family which make her a person to admire. Sharon has been through so much yet through it all she has triumphed as a woman that shows affection and warmth to those she loves and works with. Sharon is a great family woman who has remained loyal to her family throughout.  Even though it isn’t easy being a judge Sharon has been very successful doing so.  I think people will remember her for being honest and truthful and calling a spade a spade. Sharon Osborne admits to having cosmetic surgery and is not afraid to say she has had it all and loves it.  Way to go Sharon!  If I had that kind of money I’d have it too. 

Apart from being a highly professional business woman Sharon is also a devoted wife, mother, music manager, concert producer, Emmy award winning producer, day time talk show presenter, survivor of cancer and she supports many charitable organizations’ including her own “ Sharon Osborne Colon Cancer Program” Sharon started her business enterprise at the young age of 15 as a receptionist to her father’s music management company. 

Sharon was only 17 when she first met Ozzy, but it wasn’t love at first sight even though there may have been chemicals.  In 1979 Sharon started managing Ozzy’s career despite facing hardships due to circumstances out of her control she made a fantastic manager for Ozzy and came out a winner. Sharon has helped and supported Ozzy through his 24 year solo career. Sharon and Ozzy married on July 4^th 1982 and have been together ever since.  They have 3 beautiful children who are all successful in their own right named Aimee, Kelly and Jack.

As for Ozzy Osborne without any shadow of doubt he is Sharon’s soul mate and life long friend.  The two go hand in hand.  Ozzy’s favorite food is strawberry cake I haven’t found out what Sharon’s is yet!  If and when I do I will keep you posted.

After reading someone else’s blog that wasn’t very nice about Sharon Osborne I came up with an analogy!  Some people seem to dislike Sharon Osborne whilst others like me, love her.  Therefore I’d liken Sharon to Marmite or Vegemite that you either love or hate!
